Amazon goes back to white for its kindles

It has been four years since Amazon last put the white color on its eReaders and it seems that in future versions it will use it again. In the store in China, Amazon has announced for April 8 the sale of a version of its basic Kindle with the color white. The price of the device will not be exceptional but will remain in line with its Chinese equivalents, about 80 euros to change.

And regarding the hardware, the only novelty will be the white color of its housing since the rest of the hardware is the same as the current model. We do not know anything about the rest of the stores but presumably it will be a version that we will have, although possibly in Europe and in the Spanish case we will see it at the end of the month, coinciding with the feast of Sant Jordi and the Day of the Book.

Although many claim that this decision by Amazon is a change of taste, substituting its current passion for gray and black for white, I believe rather that this serves more a response from the market than a novelty from Amazon.

Amazon seems to have brought out its White Kindle for the market rather than for its own taste

In the not too distant future, Kobo will release a possible replacement for its Kobo Glo, which will presumably be white, on the other hand. nolimbook In France it is being very popular, the eReader that is also white and several other models such as the Tolino or the Cybook that have a color other than the usual black.

It seems that Amazon no longer commands the eReader market or at least that is what I understand but that Amazon itself is worrying about it, as if within the war to survive it was, something symptomatic although in some markets such as the British Amazon it supposes the 95% of the market.

The latter is my opinion on the latest from Amazon, there is nothing official about the intentions with the White Kindle, but it is surprising that when most of the markets still do not have the Kindle Voyage, Amazon worries about launching a basic Kindle with the white colorit does not surprise you?

I think the black color was chosen because it contrasted better with the Kindle screen.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Amazon has to offer this year. After the Voyage fiasco I expect something important from you.
I wonder if E Ink will be able to improve the contrast of its screens. To offer a whiter background (the current one, without light, says gray).

Well, before a kindle paperwhite it came from a white papyre and I do not recommend that color for an ebook.

    1) The contrast with the screen is quite noticeable, it is an optical effect of the brain
    2) Sunlight reflects off the white plastic outdoors, sending more clarity to the eye, making it more annoying
    3) in general over time it ages worse. To plastic unless it is terrific it always yellows

The best, black or dark gray.

Totally according to Fremen, use is more noticeable on white devices.
