5 essential accessories for Caliber

5 essential accessories for Caliber

A few months ago we already talked about how to add plugins to our Caliber and which were the most popular. But this was all before accelerated movement that has had the development of Caliber. Today I want to point out there are five accessories that seem essential when working with Caliber. These add-ons are not installed by default but this does not mean that they are not important, indeed, if you continue reading you will see how they increase the usefulness of our ebook manager. By the way, in this article I have deliberately omitted the plugins that have to do with format conversion and removing drm from ebooks. What Caliber supports these practices does not mean that Caliber works for that, it is more useful for much more than that and these complements as well as the program confirm it by themselves.

List of add-ons

  • Grant Drake Reading List. This add-on allows us to create reading lists with our ebooks. We can order them, depending on how we want to read the titles and then transfer it to our ebook without modifying them. This is useful for when we want to read the work of an author or a subject and sort it by date or by taste.
  • Kiwidude Import List. This plugin allows us to import lists of ebooks from almost any site. This is useful if we are looking for collections of titles and have them in our manager to manage libraries.
  • Goodreads Sync by Grant Drake. This add-on allows us to synchronize the data of our account Goodreads with our Caliber. Goodreads is now for many the paradigm of book social networks, so it doesn't hurt to have this add-on.
  • Recoll Full Text Search by Stanislav Kazmin. Of all the accessories, this one seemed to me the most fundamental. Recoll Full Text Search allows us to search for a word or series of words through the documents in our library. In other words, if we want to find a scientific work or a fragment of an ebook, this plugin will facilitate the task.
  • Biblioeteca of Jose Antonio Espinosa. This plugin poses the same task as Goodreads Sync, but unlike this one, library it synchronizes the data of the Biblioeteca social network. Although it may not seem like it, plugins with social networks are very useful and may soon be incorporated into future versions of Caliber.

Other essential accessories according to our eReader

There are also other accessories that are important depending on the eReader that we have. These add-ons bring new functionality to Caliber to better connect with the eReader. To give you an illustrative example, there is a Sony plug-in that allows us to better capture and synchronize our notes written on the eReader with the notes that Caliber stores. In addition to the Sony plug-in, there are other plug-ins for Kobo eReaders and Amazon eReaders.

Conclusion

There are many add-ons for Caliber, some good and some bad, but it all depends on how we use Caliber. Today I have brought you five accessories, but there are many of you What accessories do you use daily or would you include in this list?

I would add the plugins to remove the DRM from the purchased books. It is a joke that I pay for a book and then they tell me in which device I can or cannot read it, or if I can or cannot change the font size / color to read it better.

Hello, the DRM thing throws a lot, more than anything because of what you say Jesus, but I wanted to put it aside because of what I said in the article and because of how "trite" the issue is on the Web. As for the complement that you comment Nacho, It is very interesting, I thought it came by default in the installation. I'm aiming for you to have you in my Caliber. Does anyone give more?
