Young Italians will receive 500 euros to spend on culture

Young people read less every day and it is increasingly difficult to see them in a theater. Maybe because of it The Italian Government has decided to create the so-called “culture voucher”, for which it will offer 500 euros to all young people who are or have reached 18 years of age in 2016. In addition, this voucher will not only be reserved for young Italians, but also those who have a residence permit in the transalpine country will have access to it.

The only condition, apart from being born in 1998, is to spend the € 500 voucher on tickets to museums, archaeological sites, theaters, cinemas, concerts, exhibitions, fairs, music or books.

Accessing this culture voucher is very simple and it is enough to download the application "18 app" and obtain access credentials. Once all the information has been verified, the 500 euros will be paid into the account indicated. The application itself will also offer you various recommendations to spend that money received.

In this time of crisis in which we live, the Italian government has decided to bet in a very important way on culture, offering this bonus to a total of 574.593 jóvenes throughout 2016 for which he will dedicate an investment of nothing more and nothing less than 290 millones de euros.

I sincerely believe that we can only applaud this initiative of the Italian Government, and feel a healthy envy that in Spain the stakes for culture are rather few, simply resigning ourselves to our young people neither reading, nor going to the theater or doing any related activity with culture.

What do you think of the initiative of the Italian Government dubbed the "culture bond"?
