Will Microsoft abandon the tablet market in favor of the Surface Book?

Surface Book

During yesterday Microsoft presented some of its novelties, novelties that go through two new devices. One of these devices is a desktop computer while the second is a revamped version of Microsoft Surface Book. This last device is called Surface Book i7.

But many of us expected that the new Surface Pro 5 would also be presented, the Microsoft tablet that the world appreciates so much but unfortunately we have not seen any of it, not even something that confirms its next launch.

There is proof of its existence, but that Microsoft has put aside its most precious hardware makes me think that Microsoft's interest is no longer in the Surface Pro but rather in the Surface Book, a device that should be better than the Microsoft tablet but is only being more expensive and less powerful than the tablet.

The new Surface Book will be able to work like Surface Pro but not at the same price

Thus, the new Surface Book has triple the performance, twice the power and a cooling system that will prevent the device from catching fire or heating up. But it also comes at an astronomical price, being close to $ 3.000While the Surface Pro barely reaches $ 1.000. This may be why Microsoft puts so much emphasis on the Surface Book and not the Surface Pro. In any case this could make Windows 10 tablets started to decline and only the option of Surface Book remained, an expensive option.

Tablets with Windows 10 offer an addition more than being able to read or watch videos, it allows us to work with the web or create documents, something that has made the tablet the device of the year for many. Sure, with Surface Book these tasks can be done better, but we also pay more.

I hope that yesterday's event don't be the beginning of the end for Surface tabletsYet something tells me that I'm wrong What do you think?

Actually I don't think so, yesterday's event was more about software than hardware, and in fact the teams presented are not an update at all, they are just new members and if you realize it, call the surface book i7 «Surface book 2 »It would be marketing counterproductive, so they only complement the family and wait a few more months to renew all their ranges.

I think this article, apart from being poorly documented (since you call the Surface Pro 4 a tablet), is bullshit. You compare Surface Book models with an i7 and dGPU with the more basic Surface Pro 4 model. Of course, one costs more than the other! And if you compare the best model of the Surface Pro 4, with the worst of the Surface Book, this time it will be the other way around in prices. I don't know if you're a computer scientist, now, anyone considers himself a computer scientist, but of course, about this, you have no fucking idea.
The Surface Pro 4 is a laptop that has the processor instead of the keyboard, on the screen, end. But it does have a better processor than most laptops. That is, if a laptop is sold to you with the classic design of the same, but with an Intel Atom, it is a laptop, but do they redesign a laptop and since you see only one screen, it is a tablet even though it is better than What do you call portable? Good grief, edit your profile and leave the historian alone.
On the other hand, the fact that you already say that the Surface Pro are going to die because they have not been renewed a year later, is at least absurd.
Apart from the fact that the Surface Pro dreams of coming out every year and a half (therefore almost certainly that in the first quarter of 2017, we will have a new Surface), they have not been renewed to include the seventh generation of Intel processors, which were presented in August and obviously in less than 2 months there is no time to make a new model of this range.

That said, find out and if you have no fucking idea about something, it is better to write an article.
