The new version of the Kobo Aura H2O is now official

Kobo

Kobo, along with Amazon, is one of the leading manufacturers in the electronic book market. To try to gain weight in the market, in the last hours the Rakuten subsidiary has officially presented a new version of the Aura H2O, which has not changed the name, but it does have some very interesting news.

Until now, Kobo had the Aura H2O and Aura One available on the market, from which they have taken several characteristics for this new version of the Aura H2O, such as the rough rear part, which offers us a better grip or the function Comfort Light PRO. This new eReader has already fallen into our power and in the next few days we will show you a complete review that will allow us to assess this new electronic book in its proper measure.

At the moment our first contact tells us that the new Aura H2O has changed very little in terms of design, although incorporating the rough texture on the back, which allows a better grip, and that we already saw in other devices of Kobo. In addition to its older brother, it also inherits the ComfortLight PRO function that allows us to always receive optimal light depending on the time of day. For example The light it emits will not be the same if it is at night than during the day, which is very beneficial for our eyesight..

Kobo

Another of the most interesting features of this Kobo Aura H2O, which we could baptize with the surname of 2017, is the water resistance, thanks to IPX68 certification. This allows us not only to wet the eReader, but also to submerge it up to two meters under water for 60 minutes. In the previous version of the Aura H20 we had to settle for the IP67 certification, very present in many mobile devices on the market.

The possibility of using our device for example in the bathtub, in the pool or on the beach, without any danger, is a great novelty and innovation compared to Amazon's Kindle, which today are the great dominators of the market and against which Kobo wants to fight, and of course gain ground little by little.

Another improvement that we will find in this new version of the Kobo Aura H2O is its internal storage that has grown from 4GB to 8GB, which will allow us to store an even greater number of books in digital format. Without a doubt, it is not a very important novelty since storage is not a problem for almost all users of an eReader, but there is never any more internal storage, for what may happen or for what we may need.

      Hello Saturnino,
It has nothing to do with the Kobo format that. It only has to do with the DRM that publishers put out. When there is DRM, they cannot be copied like this. You have to use software (Kobo, Adobe or Caliber).

For a while I used the Kobo Aura (original) and it seemed quite more than acceptable, I only found the defect that the software did not allow the reading of the epub format in landscape mode, that if you have a cover with a cover it is more comfortable, because lean on any table.
    Have you "corrected" this problem?
