The Kindle DX is back on sale, what is Amazon up to?

Kindle DX returns from the Beyond

History Kindel DX, the Amazon eReader that stands out for its 9.7 inches it is short but intense, surrounded by intrigue and comings and goings in the e-book market. And is that this large device as soon as it is available and with a considerable reduction in its price as it completely disappears without a trace to return after time to be available at a totally prohibitive price.

We have already talked a lot about this device and we have detailed its characteristics, totally obsolete so that we can see it today and that unfortunately has no point of comparison with, for example, one of the new Kindle, but today we want to focus on trying to respond to the question; What is Amazon up to with the Kindle DX?.

And is that the Kindle DX is available again at a much lower price than usual, although it is still very uninteresting given its characteristics, so we might think that the firm led by Jeff Bezos is up to something.

The most normal thing is that Amazon looks again to launch a new eReader with a large screen and that would be the ideal complement for all students or certain groups of workers but with characteristics and specifications according to the times, that is, a powerful new Kindle DX.

The idea does not seem unreasonable since in its day when the virtual store launched the DX it tried to provide it with certain functionalities and options through various plans and projects that unfortunately were not successful. Now that digital textbooks are a reality, perhaps it is time for Amazon to renew its Kindle DX even if it tries to ship the last units that are in stock first.

Do you think the launch of an eReader with a screen close to 10 inches and specifications and options adapted to students would be successful?.

I believe that a large screen ereader only makes sense if it is in color. To read novels 6 or 7 ″ are enough. A large black and white kindle? what for? To read faded newspapers or textbooks? I do not see it. If it were a device to take notes like the Mobius that Sony wants to release, I would understand it but to read ... hopefully they are thinking of a color DX. It's the only thing that makes sense.

A 9.7 ″ screen if necessary, especially to read books in PDF, because a 6 ″ screen is very uncomfortable, I have tried on a 10 ″ tablet and the PDF book is easy to read; but it tires the eyes ... I would hope they take out a 10 ″ kindle with light.

There are many researchers, students and professors who read documents in pdf in addition to books of smaller size; also scientific journals and articles, and that need to underline, add comments or group texts as a summary, and I believe that a specific device for academic purposes would have an outlet. What surprises me is that it hasn't come out yet. I work with many pdfs and it is difficult for me to read them on the ipad, I always end up printing them to be able to read comfortably, and then summarize or annotate by hand. Maybe they made it a lot more expensive for not being able to sell these articles or pdf documents on amazon. But only with current textbooks would it already have its market; it is much easier and cheaper for publishers to sell their textbooks in pdf than to have to make a new book for the digital whiteboard, which only some publishers and for some books have managed to do.
