It may be that within the software of an eReader, the dictionary is undoubtedly what most people look at and check since it is something that is often used a lot in reading. This can be an advantage or a disadvantage for many, but What if the work or word we are looking for is science fiction? How do we find out what it means?
Faced with these problems, a group of experts have created TheFictionary, a website that collects the main fiction books of today, free and totally free to download and use on our eReader, although at the moment they are only available for Kindle and tablets.
The essence of fiction is to show the user what some terms used in science fiction works mean, so if in Tolkien's fiction we look for the word ring, the meaning will be totally different from that offered in the classic dictionary and appropriate to the context of the work. Currently there are fiction books of the main science fiction works, but The Fictionary offers the possibility of requesting fiction and they are in charge of preparing or searching for it.
The Fictionary fiction installation
The installation is quite simple, we we go down A zip file and we unzip it on our computer, the fiction will be in mobi format so we will only have to send it to our kindles, by the method we want or simply through a usb cable insert it into the eReader's dictionary folder. For tablets, the process would be very different, we will have to download the ColorDict App and through it upload the zip file with the fiction, once this is done, any application that manages ColorDict App will be able to use these dictionaries.
Opinion
Personally, I don't usually use dictionaries or fictions when reading, but I admit that The Fictionary idea is quite good and original, something that will surely make us more demanding when looking for and installing new dictionaries for our eReader. What do you think?
