More and more companies are launching their eReader internationally and by extension more devices with new and interesting improvements arrive in Spain, not long ago we could see how Kobo and the Tolino Alliance they landed in Spain. Today we are talking about a somewhat confusing eReader that aims to compete with the Kindle in Spain, the Szenio 1600DC, although as you can read, there is not much chance that this actually happens.
Szenio 1600DC Features
El Szenio 1600DC is a low-end eReader with an e-ink screen and its size is 6 ″. As for the rest of the features, it has a 128 mb ram memory with a 9 mhz dual-core ARM A600 processor and it has an internal memory of 4 Gb. The software it has is based on the Linus Kernel and can read the formats TXT, PDF, HTML, CHM, RTF, FB2, EPUB, JPG and GIF. Regarding autonomy, it is known that Szenio 1600DC has a Li-On battery but its capacity is unknown, so even though it says it has «a long battery life » it is not known how long it is. As is customary in almost all eReaders, Szenio 1600DC has a Wifi connection, a microsd slot to expand the memory and a usb-miniusb connection.
The Szenio 1600DC display raises a serious question. In the documentation provided by Szenio, the screen is a TFT screen, however when you see other documentation or images of the device we can verify that the screen is made of electronic ink, but we do not know the manufacturer and if it really is electronic ink although everything seems to indicate Yes. We know that the screen is touch and that the resolution is 800 x 600 but we do not know more.
The price of the eReader as well as its distribution are perhaps the strongest points of the device, the price of the Szenio 1600DC is 69 euros and we can find it in almost all shopping centers and large stores in Spain, which we cannot do with other ereaders such as the Kindle and which is 10 euros cheaper than the Bezos eReader.

For those who want to have their first eReader and do not want to spend a lot or for those who do not know whether or not they will like reading on an eReader, Szenio 1600DC represents perhaps the best optionNow, if we like reading and we don't care about the support or we just want to change devices, the Szenio 1600 DC represents the worst option, not only because of its confusion in terms of features, but also because of its quality, its characteristics and because non-existence of being able to buy ebooks through the eReader. But of course, this is just a personal opinion, surely someone already has their own and different from mine, right?
