Pocketbook Inkpad 2, an alternative to the Kindle Oasis

Pocketbook Inkpad 2

It seems that we will finally have eReaders with large screens again, although they will not be 9,7 inches, but the trend is in 8 inches. If at the end of this month we will meet a new Kobo eReader with an 8-inch screen, Pocketbook has gone ahead and has already presented its alternative within 8 inches, the new Pocketbook Inkpad 2, an eReader that displays as an updated version of the Inkpad although many will relate it as a bad copy of the Kindle Oasis although it was or has been the other way around.

Will Pocketbook Inkpad 2 have software problems?

Pocketbook Inkpad 2 is an eReader with an 8-inch e-ink screen with Pearl technology and a resolution of 1.600 x 1.200 pixels. This touch screen accompanies you a 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB of ram and 4 Gb of internal storage that can be expanded by microsd slot. It has a design oriented to reading with one hand, similar to the Kindle Oasis, hence its resemblance.

But the Pocketbook Inkpad 2 has a single 2.500 mAh battery and the ability to play audio, either for audiobooks or mp3 files. But what many users expect is the behavior of the software.

The Pocketbook Inkpad was a great eReader but it had lousy software that made reading on the device tedious. This has not improved with updates, with the few updates, so many users are hopeful that Pocketbook Inkpad 2 is an improved version. Currently we can not say anything about it since Pocketbook has only presented the device through its website, where it sells at 199 euros, a very reasonable price for this eReader.

Pocketbook is characterized by having eReaders with terrible software, something that affects users. But if you really don't care about this, this eReader may be worth a try. Do not you think?

Very complete (personally I like that it has audio) and well priced. In addition, 8 ″ I think it is quite good without having to change pages continuously as in the 6 ″ models. The problem is the weight, this specifically, 350 grams. They are enough to read lying down holding the device with one hand.

Amazon is committed to mobility and comfort and that is why its ereaders are smaller and lighter. I prefer it that way. I would only buy a bigger screen if it were in color.

I have used the Kindle Paperwhite, the Kobo Aura Hd and currently use a PocketBook Touch Lux 2.
The first two are currently in operation, in the hands of my mother and my sister, but finally I preferred the Touch Lux, of which, the only complaint I have, is its power button, because I prefer the one that does it when opening the cover.
I have not tested the Inkpad, but if the software of both models were similar, I do not see any problem with it.

I had to return the Pocketbook Inkpad, a shame because the design was like the Oasis and above 8 ″ which for me DOES matter, but the elras looked very clear. A touch screen cannot be mounted on a Pearl, it needs the Carta version.
A shame, but I had to return it. Bad software? Well, you could see the real pages, nothing of the percent as in my old Kindle. But I already said that there was a lack of contrast, the letters were a medium gray color.
    A shame ...
