Pocket for Chrome is updated with great news

Pocket for Chrome

In recent months we have seen how the main applications and reading apps were updated, then the self-publishing services began to be updated and now it seems that it is the turn of the applications to read after or to search for readings.

Thus, Pocket, the famous reading app for later, has updated its extension for Chrome, an extension that will begin to gain importance in web browsing or at least that can be concluded after the news.

The new update to the Pocket Chrome extension includes three new features. The first and most striking is that when we open a new tab, the extension of Pocket will recommend three readings that the application will show by algorithm, taking into account our interests. The second function or novelty within this extension consists of recommend similar readings based on the websites we save, something that the Pocket app already does and that we will now have it installed in the Chrome extension.

And finally, the third novelty will be that the extension will open a small window where it will recommend readings read by our circles, something that the Android app already does and that turn Pocket into a social network more than in a reading app, although some use it as both.

Personally, if you are Pocket users, these news will not attract much attention, however it is striking that when we open a tab, recommended readings appear as if users used the web browser to read exclusively. Personally I don't like it very much and I imagine that over time this Pocket will remove it or change it, but so far, it seems that the new tabs will be annoying or maybe not?
