El Oxford English Dictionary It is one of the best known and recognized worldwide, and these days it already has a new edition on the market that includes 1.000 new words. Most of them will not attract the attention of almost anyone, but a small group will not go unnoticed by absolutely no one.
And it is that this dictionary stands out for its modernism, introducing with each edition new words at least surprising. For example, in this edition we find the acronym YOLO (You Only Live Once, you only live once, very popular with those known as millennials).
We also come across words like moobs, which are nothing more than men with breasts due to the accumulation of fat, yogilates or partners of the hybrid discipline that combines yoga and Pilates and clicktivism which is the use of clicks on social networks to support or promote a social cause.
Also and as in each edition we find a word that honors a recognized character. This time this word is oompa lompa, dedicated to the British novelist Roald Dalh, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the writer known for his great successes in children's literature, which have sold millions of copies around the world and have even made the leap to the cinema.
A new edition of the Oxford English Dictionary is already among us and I at least already burn with the desire to have it to be able to discover each and every one of the 1.000 new words among which we will find some of the most unique.
