Kobo Glo HD vs Kindle Voyage, two giants with Letter

Kobo Glo HD vs. Kindle Voyage

In a few weeks we will have the new Kobo eReader, the Kobo Glo HD and with this there are already three eReaders that have Carta technology, so the comparisons between them are irremediable. In this case we wanted to compare the new Kobo Glo HD with the Kindle Voyage, two eReaders with the highest possible resolution and with a great business network endorsing them.

Currently there are two eReaders that are not available in many markets, the Kobo Glo HD because it is launching and the Kindle Voyage because strangely it is still only in a few markets. But even so before the end of the year, the two eReaders will be available in Spain and ready to buy not only through online stores but also in physical stores.

Assessment

How you can see both devices are practically the same, perhaps the big difference is in the software that each one of them carries. While the Kobo Glo HD has the Kobo store, and in addition to the browser and games it has access to our Pocket account, the Kindle Voyage has access to the Amazon store, web browser and communicates with Send To Kindle, now well, Kindle Voyage has access to Kindle Unlimited while Kobo Glo HD does not.

Amazon

I think that really the big difference between an eReader and another is made by Kindle Unlimited, but does this advantage really make the 70 dollars of difference? I personally do not think so. Flat rates for ebooks are very good, but currently there are more and more services that use the web browser as a platform for viewing, so this difference does not really exist for many, there are also many people who still do not use flat rates and therefore, Kobo Glo HD is the best option, not only for quality but also for price.

Kobo GloHD

This launch has really surprised everyone and it seems to me that Amazon is going to have to put the batteries because they have already caught up with it in the eReader race, now, when the Kindle Voyage arrives in Spain Will it be with a reduction in price? Will Amazon lower the price of the Kindle Voyage as it has done with the Fire Phone? What do you think? Which eReader do you choose?

I have not seen them but it gives me the impression that the kindle has a cooler design with that screen flush with the frame. I have also read very bad opinions of the Kobo dictionaries, which in the Kindle are amazing but come on, for a € 70 difference the option is clear, right?
One thing I would ask of both of them is to allow custom folders. In other words, they let me make a folder called (for example) "Terror" on the PC and put several books there and then I could drag it to the reader. This is what I used with my old Papyre and it is without a doubt the best method of classifying books (at least for me) and not the "Collections" from the noses that Amazon and Kobo like so much and that are very confusing to do. on the same device.

I still don't see the Voyage. It is a very expensive device for what it offers. I do not know how sales will be going, but clearly his objective is a profile of a person who seeks differentiation. The kindle paperwhite is the spearhead aimed at the common reader and the basic kindle who reads occasionally or doesn't mind the lack of light.

The kobo glo hd at that price is much more interesting than the voyage. Now, if you want to consume legal content by paying, at the moment Amazon is still far ahead of the rest. If what you want is to pass your own content or downloaded there on the web, the kobo is a great option to the paperwhite, since the screen, as it has a higher resolution, can be good for manga. The seb browser, games and other nonsense is only for those who seek to mess with the junk and not as the sole purpose of reading.
