The Premium eReaders that are currently on the market all have the same drawback: they are very expensive. But despite this downside, all reports suggest that these devices are out of stock on the shelves and in the stores of those who sell them. Something that is surprising its own creators because they do not have as much stock as they thought.
In the case of the Kindle Oasis, the eReader is being replaced gradually, but replaced after all, instead the same is not the case with the Kobo Aura One.
According to various sources, the Kobo Aura One won't be back on shelves until 2017, something that many are regretting for the simple fact that there is no Premium eReader with that type of screen. However, there are other alternatives almost as good. The most famous of these is the purchase of Kobo H2O, an eReader with a 7-inch screen that despite not being sold directly in many stores, it can be found in some stores and on sites like eBay for a more than reasonable and interesting price.
Another option to this device is to opt for a large screen model such as the Onyx Boox Max, an eReader with more than 13 inches of screen. However the price of this device is higher than normal. And if the screen is not a problem for you, the Kobo Aura Edition 2 and the Kobo Glo HD models are two great options for those who do not want to have items from Amazon or do not have the possibility to buy these products.
In any case, surely this Christmas if we see any unit of the Kobo Aura One, although it is true that surely until 2017 we will not see a large stock of this eReader but Will there really be demand when the Kobo Aura One arrives? What do you think?
Hi Joaquin
Thanks for your information. It seems important to me that we all know that KOBO does not have a technical service in Spain. When someone buys KOBO (as is my case) they risk that the guarantee is worth the same as a 3 euro coin
Thank you for the article, I have it reserved in Media markt since in case of damage I can deliver it in person during the 2-year guarantee but, seeing the panorama, I don't know if I buy it online at fnac, does fnac online offer me the same guarantee?
Well of course. But I think that to process it you would have to do it through the web.
And what problem, do you have the guarantees that are not in physical stores? today I tell you. Buy what you buy from the Geek world, everything is repaired in Ireland, Hungary, etc. You open the fault on the web, they come for it and in 3 days you have it back.
I just bought it at «La Central», a bookstore in Barcelona. They replace it themselves in case of problems during the first year.
I have just delivered my Glo HD to mediamarkt due to a breakdown. It was within the warranty and nothing wet…. In less than a week they called me to tell me that they will refund my money… They cannot change my device because, unfortunately, there is no longer stock of Glo.
