Will the Kobo Aura One be released in mid-August?

Kobo AuraOne

A few hours ago we met a tweet from Michael Tamblyn a bit puzzling. This tweet shows an image and information that would indicate that the next Kobo eReader would be launched in the middle of next August, that is, in less than 20 days.

We have also known the back of one of the two eReaders that Kobo will introduce coming soon. This is possibly more striking than the launch date because you see a rubber side and a water background, that is, one of the two devices will be the replacement for the Kobo Aura One.
We still don't know a lot about these devices, but so far we know it will be two devices, one of them with a 7,8-inch screen and the other with a 6-inch screen. If we consider the latest Kobo releases, next August we will know the Rakuten premium eReader and during the IFA the other eReader model. However, Kobo can surprise us and launch two premium models, one aquatic for the month of August and a larger one for day-to-day life.

The Kobo Aura H2O could make way for the Kobo Aura One

The power button in the image is eye-catching, being quite a controversial topic since the first Kobo Aura and it seems that the Rakuten company is still not deciding to have a standard button on their devices. It is also said that one of the devices will have audio output, to enable audiobooks, to be more compatible with Overdrive and its platform.

In any case, it seems that the new Kobo devices are closer than ever and will not leave anyone indifferent or at least the little information we have indicates this. And alone we have to wait 20 days to learn more about these eReaders that could represent a severe setback for Amazon or maybe not What do you think?
