The Kobo Aura One does not have an internal microsd card reader

Kobo Aura One Indoor

Today you can pre-order the Kobo Aura One, the new Kobo device. But many of us have been able to try and learn about its benefits and negative aspects. Some who have this eReader have been more daring and have decided to open the eReader to see if it really has what it says or have some more surprises like the Kobo Glo HD. And of course it has a surprise.

The new Kobo Aura One doesn't have a microsd card slot like other eReaders so we will not be able to expand the memory capacity nor will we be able to easily replace it in case of failure.

The brave who have decided to do this is an Italian blog called HDblog.it, a blog where they have skipped the protection of the rubber casing of the Kobo Aura One to see what was inside. For many this is bad news because if you read a lot of pdf files it will fill up easily the internal capacity of the Kobo Aura One and there will be a worse performance of the device.

Internal storage cannot be expanded using a microsd card reader

The truth is that it is true, but the most alarming thing about the situation is that Caliber, the ebook manager does not manage this eReader well yet so the main ally that a user has to deal with the low capacity of the ereader is not available.

In any case there are still many days to distribute this new Kobo device, something that will allow the developers of the Kobo Aura One to improve the situation and allow access to some extra cloud storage application or for Caliber to improve the management of this device. In any case there is room for improvement for the eReader even if we do not have that microsd card reader Do not you think?

Honestly, I do not think that the SD card slot is so necessary, many e-readers do not bring it and even have less than 8GB of internal storage, which is what the Kobo Aura One offers, and they are not harmed by it at all. .
