Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2, a new waterproof eReader

michael tamblyn

Apparently Kobo Rakuten is still working on new models of eReaders that will be launched on the market in a few weeks. Thus, thanks to the firmware of current devices we have known a new model of eReader.

This device will be called Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2. A name that despite its size, tells us a lot about the new Kobo device. Apparently this model will replace the old Kobo Aura H2O eReader, the first Kobo Rakuten eReader that was IP67 certified and therefore resistant to water and certain shocks.

The Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 will have a 6,8-inch screen and waterproof certification. Data that it inherits from its previous model and that it seems that people are liking, due to the sales data that both the H2O and the Aura One are having.

The Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2 could replace the Kobo Aura Edition 2

Many claim that this new device will be launched for Mother's DayThat is, the end of April, the beginning of May. And others suggest that it will be the successor to the Kobo Aura One, that is, that the Kobo large-screen eReader will be discontinued in pursuit of the new Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2.

On this we have nothing confirmed because both Kobo and other official media have not talked about new devices, but taking into account the nickname "Edition 2" I do not think the new eReader replaces the famous Kobo Aura One but rather it will be a substitute for the Kobo Aura Edition 2, a model that by the way, in its first version was the predecessor model to the Kobo Aura H2O. In any case, the FCC has yet to say anything about the new device and may be the most reliable source yet on the launch of new devices Do not you think?

What surprises me is that Amazon does not have an ereader with a screen larger than 6 ″ to compete with the Kobo and even more seeing the success that the Aura is having ... do they think that the larger size is fixed with the Fire tablets?

Or is it possible that in November, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the Kindle, they surprise us with a new larger screen ereader?
