Instapaper is bought by Pinterest

Instapaper

We had not known anything about the alternative service called Instapaper, a service that saved web pages for us to read later in the application. Instapaper was an alternative to Pocket that in 2013 it was sold to Betawords and that now has been sold to Pinterest, the famous social network of images.

Thus, Pinterest has in its possession a reading service that many users still use, although not so many developers or at least they will not be able to use it since the developer program has been closed.

Today we do not know if Instapaper will disappear to be diluted with Pinterest or if it will simply remain as an independent service from the social network, since we do not know anything officially, except that the offices are changed and Instapaper will move to the Pinterest offices. Hopefully finally Instapaper and Pinterest join in a single service or application, but it is something that for the moment will not happen.

Instapaper will remain operational in the Pinterest offices

In any case the news is important because the purchase by Pinterest will suppose an injection of resources for the app and with it the possibility of offering new functions. Although many will doubt the relationship that may exist or that it can be created from a reading service for later such as Instapaper with a social network focused on the world of the image such as Pintarest.

In these lasts months, later reading apps have stalled, Instapaper and Pocket being the great alternatives, although of these last two, Pocket is the one that has grown the most by far.

Personally I think Instapaper was on the verge of disappearance, something that will not happen after the purchase of Pinterest, but Is Pinterest really strong enough to revive Instapaper? Do you think the service will disappear or will it continue to live?
