In 2018 we could have eReaders with ACEP technology from E-Ink

ACCEPT

Yesterday we met with great enthusiasm E-ink's new ACEP technology that brings color to this type of panel to which we are used to reading our favorite books. That illusion was not entirely because it did not seem the right one for eReaders.

But this is ultimately not so, and possibly for 2018 let's see the first eReaders with ACEP screens, as has been confirmed from several sources that have mentioned that until that year, we will not see the mass production of these panels for any company that wants to use them for their digital readers and smartphones.

The first products to take advantage of this new technology, called Advanced Color E-paper, will be those aimed at digital signage. The company first intends to launch 20-inch displays that will be capable of displaying 32.000 colors.

The great advantage of this new e-paper color screen is that it is available in a single pane of glass. E-Ink Regal is directly in charge of controlling the position of the multiple color pigments. Once you add a touch screen, you will only have two layers. If this has great significance, it is because Triton 1 and Triton 2 had three layers and were more expensive to manufacture, apart from the fact that the colors were kind of dull.

There are many who are really excited about the possibilities it can offer this new color electronic ink technology. Manufacturers like Yota could integrate a colored back panel, while others, like Inkcase and Popslate, could jump on the bandwagon to make outstanding products. And surely some of the big companies are already looking at the possibilities of ACEP for their devices.

Also on the side that touches the monitors, the integration of a panel of these characteristics would be very interesting for certain professionals who spend hours and hours in front of a screen in the day.
