How to decide which Kindle to buy?

Amazon

El Kindle It is one of the most popular eRreaders on the market, thanks mainly to the evolution it has undergone over the years and which has turned it into a device with a careful design, plenty of power and also a huge amount of features and options.

Currently Amazon has two devices for sale in most countries in the world. These are the Kindle Paperwhite and the basic Kindle, also called fifth generation. In addition, in a small number of countries it also sells the Kindle Travel. The existence of three different models can sometimes complicate the decision of any user when buying one model or another, but in most cases it will be very beneficial.

Today and through this article We will try to help you decide which Kindle model to choose with some simple guidelines that you should keep in mind.

Budget

First You should be very clear about the budget you have to buy the Kindle. The price of Amazon devices ranges from 79 euros that a basic Kindle is worth, going through the 129 euros that the Kindle Paperwhite costs and up to the 219 dollars that the Kindle Voyage is worth in the few countries where it is sold.

Depending on your budget, you must decide on one or the other model, although later and if you want to aspire to something else you can always try to acquire a reconditioned Kindle, which are devices that Amazon sells with a normal warranty, although they have been used by another user. IN most cases it is difficult to find a difference with a brand new device and the savings in euros can be considerable.

What do I want my future Kindle to offer me?

The best way to answer this question is by example. If I am clear that I do not want a Kindle with integrated light, it is perhaps useless that I spend the money on a Kindle Paperwhite And it is that although it is a more powerful device, it will offer us almost the same characteristics as a basic Kindle, except for the light.

If you want to have a next-generation eReader that offers me the more functions and options the better then you should go for one of the other two models. In addition, if you do not live in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and some other country, your choice cannot be other than the Kindle Paperwhite, since the Kindle Voyage is only sold in those countries.

In Spain today, and despite the fact that the Voyage was presented in September 2014, it is still not marketed, although it was said that would arrive a few weeks later on the market.

Our advice

To get started in the world of digital reading, and without knowing if you like to read in digital format, perhaps a basic Kindle is enough. However, if you are looking for something else, you should opt for a Kindle Paperwhite with a more careful design and better features.

If you have money to spare and you don't mind spending a fortune on an eReader, the Kindle Voyage has to be your choice. With premium material finishes and unheard of power, you'll have a Kindle for a long time.

Choosing which Kindle model to buy can be a difficult task, but think that at least you have already closed the search for around 3 devices, it would be worse if you were to choose between all the eReaders on the market.

Man I am clear that if the budget is not a problem it is always better to buy the Paperwhite (while waiting for the Voyage to come out in Spain). If you don't want the light, you put it to the minimum and it is not noticeable (although, curiously, it cannot be turned off completely) but it is always good to have it. I usually read in my room and with the light from the lamp it was not enough for me and as I went from having a case with light or lamps you are hooking up, I changed my Kindle Touch (which was fantastic) for the Paperwhite and so happy.

If I must say is that those that do not have light have better contrast than those that do. Officially this is never said but if you put a basic kindle next to a paperwhite with the light to the minimum you will see that it is true. The basic one looks better.
