Google uses ebooks to improve the conversation of its Artificial Intelligence

Google

Apparently ebooks have more utilities in addition to serving as readings. And no, I do not mean to fit the leg of the table, a function that many books still have, but they will serve to improve parts of software or at least Google thinks so.

Recientemente Google has used 11.000 ebooks for the study and development of its Artificial Intelligence, development that will allow a better conversation to the AI but it seems that they have not counted on the authors of those ebooks.

Some authors who own these works have expressed their displeasure at not being informed of this use or of those purposes. However, according to Google and its managers, the 11.000 works were under free license and they do not have to notify or reward the writer. The list of ebooks or works that Google has used refers to a study from the University of Toronto who chose a list of works that could help improve any Artificial Intelligence to develop and improve the language and conversation of this type of software.

The authors of the works have not been notified of this use for Artificial Intelligence

Even so, although Google has taken a scientific study, the truth is that the authors of the works should have been informed at least that their works were going to be used for those purposes, at least the authors who are still living, because surely there will be works whose authors are not yet alive.

The truth is that neither the study nor Google itself do something new since it has always been said that reading, among its virtues, is to improve the person's vocabulary as well as their conversation. So it is not strange that Artificial Intelligence uses ebooks or digitized books to obtain the same results. However Is Google the only company that is using this for its Artificial Intelligence? Will this be the beginning of a long list of ebooks for IA's? What do you think?
