FNAC Touch Little, the twin brother of the Avant 3 EVO

Avant 3 EVO

Just a few days ago in this same corner we presented you the new one and in my opinion and that of many of you who read us daily, disappointing Avant 3 EVO from the spanish brand bqWell, we already have its twin brother available on the market, produced by bq itself and marketed under the name FNAC Touch Little by the gigantic tech store.

The device is, as expected on the other hand, a carbon copy of the device marketed by bq although its name has been changed and we can find a small change in its specifications, specifically in weight, where the FNAC device mysteriously weighs one gram less than the Avant 3 EVO.

In the review we made of the Avant 3 EVO we already commented that this device that we remember is exactly the same as the FNAC Touch Little that we present today was of a Rather low range and which lacked some features to improve and left a lot to be desired in others but without a doubt its price was the strong point.

FNAC eReader

And it is that the new device of the FNAC can be acquired already in any store of the brand to a price of EUR 89,90, certainly a reasonable price although as many of you pointed out in the review of the bq device you can get better things at a lower price (basic Kindle for 79 euros) and for a little more money you can get great devices.

The main features of the bq Avant 3 EVO are:

  • Size: 154 x 125 x 10,9 mm
  • Weight :: 244 grams
  • Screen: it has a six-inch screen with 4th generation eInk technology that allows a resolution of 600 × 800 pixels, with 16 gray levels. In addition, this screen is touch with capacitive technology
  • Battery: Li-ion 1530 mAh
  • Processor: ProcessorSamsung S3C2116 ARM9 533 MHz
  •  Memoria interna: 2 GB, about 1.000 books. Expandable to 32 GB via MicroSD cards
  • Supported formats: eBook: EPUB (unprotected and with Adobe DRM), PDF, FB2; Photos and images: JPG, PNG
  •  Connectivity: WiFi connection (802.11b / g) and USB 2.0 port (micro-USB connector)

In my opinion and based on a small test that I did use in the FNAC itself I have to say that As strong points I would highlight its attractive design, the speed of the page turn and the quality of the screen, it looks very correct and very clear. Among the negative points, I would highlight, above all, its slowness when starting.

Overall and evaluating quality and price, I would say that it is not a very powerful and leading eReader but it is a good reader, although as we have already been commenting for the price of 89,90 euros, perhaps we can find some other better device.

What do you think of the new FNAC Touch Little?.

Very horny about the gram less
Otherwise little to add: screen and processor specifications lower than those of other current models, even those of many 2011 models, but lower price. I suppose that by carrying a more recent firmware it will have better drivers and that will have improved its speed compared to December 2011
Personally I think it is more worthwhile:
-or pay a little more, in that case the bank of options is wide
-or giving up the touch screen but paying less to go for a basic Kindle that, with the already known limitations (not supporting EPUB, not having a card reader) at least has (on paper) a better screen and a better processor and also it's cheaper

I have one and there is no way to find a compatible case… it has a very personal square design. The FNAC itself does not sell them and the screen quality has a too grayish background… they gave it to me but if I had to buy one, I would go to other models.

I just bought the Fnac Touch Little for € 59,99 in fnac.es, and after testing it, I have to say that there is not, by far, for that price, a device with similar characteristics to those it brings. The last thing I would do is buy a Kindle, in my opinion they suck, since they force you to use third-party tools, like Caliber, to convert the e-books they come in in their stupid proprietary format. The Kindle deserve to disappear, as well as its format garbage. At the moment I am staying with the Touch Little.

    A greeting.

The cover of the Targus that sells The house of the book is a joke, my wife has one, I have tried it and I am going to buy one at once!

Hello, I have a fnac little touch ebook from 2011, and sometimes it gets "hung" and there is no way to access the menus. I am trying to update the firmware but as the options are touching the screen and it does not work, there I am a little desperate, is there any trick? Thanks
