E-ink announces the development of a 42-inch panel

Keel

We were almost saying goodbye to the possibility that at some point we might buy a 32-inch E-ink screen, as it was not in the line of sight that they were in a commercial production for an early release.

But from what we're picking up today, at some point in the near future we could purchase an even larger panel. E-ink has announced that they are developing a 42-inch panel with 2880 x 2160 resolution and that would be used for the QuirckLogic Keel device.

QuirkLogic calls the Keel an eWriter, but it is rather a digital board like those of a lifetime, although with that special capacity due to the E-ink panel. It will be shown these days at CES in Las Vegas, where you can see how diagrams are drawn, lists are made, and everything that can be done.

From what is known of the mail sent by E-ink, it will be in the hands of beta testers for February and on the market for the second quarter of the year.

A totally innovative product due to its large size and which becomes the largest ePaper panel on the planet. It promises to be the first step for this type of solution in a larger format that can replace the static panels that we all know.

This new screen is based on Pearl E-ink And it has a slightly low resolution, just 86 ppi, which is less than the 3-inch E-Ink screen announced 32 years ago.

This 42-inch screen looks like it will be perfect for classes and offices. QuirckLogic is a startup with a single product, the Quilla. So it will be necessary to see if this startup is capable of bringing the Quilla to the market and that it does not remain halfway to being the whole truth.
