Although in a quiet way, Amazon has already gotten one of the things he most appreciated: a font for reading. Thus, during the last days and those to come, Amazon will launch updates in which it includes this new source in its readers so that its users can use it. The new font is called Bookerly, a Serif font that improves the appearance of the text damaging less to our sight and lightening the text in front of our eyes.
Bookerly will replace Caecilia, the old letter of Amazon, although this letter will remain for the moment in the system of the eReaders of Amazon. If you look at the images, the difference is remarkable and although it seems that Bookerly is getting worse, this is due to an optical effect, since the computer screen is not the same as electronic ink.
Although long ago first Mac and Jobs's fixation on text fontsIt seems that the market still has a lot to say and that everything is not resolved.
Bookerly will gradually replace Caecilia
According to Amazon, one of the problems they saw that their devices had is that the eReader could not display the text in the same way that a book could do (saving of course the differences in support), in such a way that many complained of the fatigue that it provoked, of the bad visualization for some, etc….
At the moment it seems that Bookerly is the solution that Amazon wanted, but since everything changes, it may be that in a year or even less we will have a new source for our devices.
Sadly, Bookerly is not available (yet) for individual download, so we won't be able to use it on other eReaders or set it as the primary font in our ebooks (if it's geared for e-ink it will work fine on any eReader right?) However , I fixed that in a short time we will be able to obtain it in one way or another. I at least already want to read with that letter to check the results of Amazon, will it be as good as they say?
