Autumn runs out of eReaders

Tolino Tab 8

Things change. It's something we all know, but sometimes those changes occur for no apparent reason. Apparently This fall, like last, we will not have new eReaders models, at least models of the most famous brands such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

From 2009 to 2014, at the beginning of autumn it was traditional to know all the most important models of eReaders that would be valid throughout the year. This seems not to be the case. At least so far this season we have only seen one new model from Kobo.

Autumn is no longer "eReader season"

In addition to the launch of new eReaders, Autumn was the beginning of the Frankfurt Fair as well as other events related to the ebook. Tolino took the opportunity to launch his new models during this fair. This year no new Tolino eReader will be seen, so Old Europe has run out of new Kindle models and new Tolino models. On the other hand, the Onyx Boox brand, typical of national eReaders, has not presented any new models either, only several renewed models with more ram memory and Carta technology.

In any case, it seems that the market is still led by Amazon Well, rival brands have stopped releasing models during the early fall as has Amazon. But it may also be that such changes are due to other factors such as manufacturing processes, but that would mean that Kobo could not launch its eReaders at this time.

It was very convenient to be able to have all the launches in a single week, but in the long run, for the market, this is beneficial because now no reader expects to see all the models in autumn. Something that is good for users who do not have to wait and for the companies themselves, which sell more units without waiting for the launches of other models. However Will the autumn season be changed for another season? What do you think?

The presentation of the Kobo Aura and Oasis back in April-May seemed strange to me. It seems that now is spring the time of the novelties but hey… we talk about autumn as if it were September and October and autumn lasts until December eh.
Perhaps that scoop from Goodereader (and which Todoereaderes echoed) is true and Amazon will present the Kindle Color next November ...
    Ironic off.
