Surely many of you are not familiar with Mobipocket, neither its website nor its ebook store, but if you use ebooks, surely the «mobi» format is familiar to you. This format that currently belongs to Amazon was not always like that and in the not too distant past, mobi belonged to the company Mobipocket, which seems that It will close its doors definitively from October 31.
In 2005 Amazon bought this company and stripped it of everything to incorporate it into its ecosystem. Almost 11 years later, Amazon has decided close the web and what little was left for users, among other things, because the sale of ebooks with drm has fallen and through Mobipocket no purchases have been made.

Unfortunately little remains of those formats although other new formats have come, including the free Epub format, a format that is not yet compatible with certain Amazon devices but surely that after the gradual disappearance of the Mobi format, Epub will make its way among Amazon devices or maybe not?
