Amazon is developing an 8-inch color Kindle

Amazon Kindle

There is a lot of desire to go before a Kindle with a color screen in order to approach other types of content such as magazines or comics. It is the latter who would surely take all the win when we have a Kindle device in which color takes center stage and leads us to other sensations in digital reading.

It is now when we know that Amazon is in full swing development of an 8-inch color e-reader in which Liquavista is using. People close to the supply chain say that the company would be launching this Kindle device for the month of October or November. Some dates that coincide with the most important news from Amazon on an annual basis.

The manufacturing of the panels will be done at the Beijing Century Joyo Information Techonogy Co. These facilities are where field goals will be established and product assembly will be done. Amazon will also be carrying all the team's production and materials to this location.

The coordination for what would be the color e-paper will be in Eindhoven, the Dutch capital of the high-tech industry. The newly hired Amazon team will be primarily responsible for manage the strategic plan at a high level, while staying on a day-to-day basis in the technical details of development. It is here where the test equipment will be evaluated by the quality department so that the product reaches the end customer in its perfect condition.

A very important appointment for Amazon that has never launched a color Kindle before, so if it is able to sell it at a fair price, it should increase sales considerably due to the experience that such a device could offer. There are a large audience that has been waiting by a color e-reader in which comics, manga, magazines and PDF files can be read.

It's okay although I was hoping it was bigger. I have a 9 ″ tablet and it is small for me to read magazines and comics.

Color kindle should be 12-13 ″ at least. Anyway, it would be important that they take something out with that screen.

Yes, but if they went up the size, it would increase the price considerably. And it gives me that the intention is to launch a product whose color screen and its price are the two perfect excuses to replace the Kindle that you have.

It will be quite an experience!

True, the price is a problem and if they are already charging 280 for the Oasis I prefer not to think how much this will cost ...

    It was time.
Although I think the price will be exorbitant (the price of the Oasis is going to seem like a balance next to it) and it may affect sales.

As for the size, it seems enough for now. in 8 ″ you can read most things well. Comics without a doubt since they are smaller.

The denser PDFs will be more complicated, but ordering 10 ″ or more is a utopia since they would not have an output neither by demand nor by price. A panel of that size would have an out-of-market price since not even with eInk it does not have an acceptable cost.

    regards

They will adjust the price so that the first Amazon Kindle in color is a bomb and they sell like donuts. Hopefully of course, they can also know that they will sell it and raise the price. But if they have opted for 8 inches they are almost saying the price of it: =)

8 inches is perfect for reading! finally, it was about time, in fact I put aside my K. Boyage for a Samsung of those Galaxy Tab S2 precisely because of the size of the screen and its format, perfect for reading. An 8 ″ e-ink would be great, and it seems that those who would use it more for magazines and comics, well… for these contents, generally ultra-short, a 10 or 9 tablet is enough. For books this Kindle will be the host!

My comment did not come out 🙁
He said that an 8-inch E-ink E-Reader is perfect, in fact I stopped using a Kindle Boyage in exchange for an 2 ″ Galaxy Tab S8.
It is much more comfortable to read than in 6 ″.
And on reading ultra-short texts as a result of magazines I think a Tablet is enough, there are up to 10.5 ″
This Kindle will be a pleasure to read books.

Well, it's May 2017 and I still haven't heard any news about this launch, but of course they didn't say what October or November it would be, if 2016, 2017, or 2020.
