Amazon Brings Back Reading Progress Points in Kindle Version 5.8.1

Amazon Kindle Oasis

One of the details that were removed in previous Kindle update it was the points of reading progress to know how much we have left to read or in what position related to the length of the book we are. A detail that many users did not like that was withdrawn and that got Amazon to receive criticism for it.

Amazon has now released new firmware for the Kindle Basic, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Voyage, and the Kindle Oasis. This new update brings with it points to know the reading progress that were withdrawn a bit ago. Among some of the other new features in this new firmware, we can find that the device will be able to remember Wi-Fi passwords.

This is the list of news from the new firmware 5.8.1:

  • Progressive reading points: We have received the feedback from our customers and we have brought the progress of reading points back to your device. You can now see the reading progress and the length of the book you are reading for which you have downloaded in the list of available titles
  • More ways to share: books recommended to friends from "about this book"
  • Kindle Unlimited Recommendations- Try Kindle Unlimited for free and check out recommended Kindle Unlimited titles after choosing your favorite genres
  • Save Wi-Fi passwords in your Amazon account: save your Wi-Fi passwords to your Amazon account to always have them available. You can configure your compatible devices so that you do not have the need to re-enter your Wi-Fi passwords on each of your devices

The update should be coming to your device, although you can also download it manually from the download page to update your Kindle. You may go through this link for manual download if you don't want to wait to have progress points already.
