A video shows the 13-inch Onyx Boox Max and the 96 ″ Boox N9,7

A few days ago we had the opportunity to know more information about the two bets of Onys such as the 13-inch Boox Max and the 96 ″ Boox N9,7. Today we have the possibility, thanks to a video, to get closer to what these two ereaders will be.

The video was taken by Booxtor, one of Onys' partners in Europe to distribute these ereaders, and shows the example units that he brought from the company. In near 30 minutes teaches the particularities of the Onyx Boox Max, to allow only five minutes to indicate the characteristics of the two.

From the video you can extract how the Max handles files PDF, DjVU, ePUB, CBZ and TTS and access Google Play, Dropbox, the Kindle app or the web browser. A device focused on digital reading but from which you can get more features by having Android 4.0.

Onyx BooxMax

The Onyx Boox Max is a 13 inch ereader on the screen with resolution 2200 x 1650 Mobius E-ink. Booxtor has commented that the new screens are not available yet and that the first units will arrive with the same Sony DPT-S1 Digital Paper, or what is a screen resolution of 1200 x 1600.

The price of the Max will be slightly lower than the DPT-S1, so it is expected that will reach 585 euros. A 1GHz dual-core CPU ereader running Android 4.0. I don't think there is more to say about the price and possibilities.

If we compare it in possibilities to the DPT-S1, the Onyx can launch a wide variety of Android apps These include Instapaper, Kindle, Kobo, Pocket, RSS, and other Android apps.

We will see how it will work in a market that is saturated and in which ereaders seem stuck. If we already take it to the Android market, it is in the same state, so we will see in a few months how it will behave in sales.

The truth is that such a large screen ereader is spectacular. I still think that in those sizes the color is necessary but even so it draws attention and has many possibilities. Anyway I still think it is expensive. A monochrome screen at € 600 ... that's why you have very good tablets, although not so big, right.

It is curious that the few 13 ″ models that have been presented do not have any light. Technology problem?

Well, Sony's, the DPT S1 is worth (because I don't know if it's still on sale) more than $ 1000, I think it was around 1200 or 1300, much more expensive than onyx.
By the way it seems that onyx has changed ownership and it is no longer the same domain, if they confirm it they will send me an email.
