Noto, Google's preferred typeface

Noto

Today we are not going to talk about new eReaders or news about the ebook market, but it is related to these two elements. In this case we come to discover a typeface quite unknown by many but also very widespread that it is convenient to know if we want to create a great ebook or at least a quality ebook.

The typeface in question it's called Noto and it is created or better said supported by Google. Noto has not been created by Google strictly because in the process of creation Google was not only but had help from Adobe and MonoType experts.

Noto is present on Android mobiles and computers with Gnu / Linux

Noto is short for «no more tofu«, Tofu is the name of the square that appears on our computer when the font is not recognized. Thus, this Open Source source is present in many computers and operating systems since it is Open Source. It can also be installed on our eReader, computer or device, for this we only have to download the source and follow the device instructions to this end.

Noto supports more than 800.000 languages and is on Gnu / Linux so everyone has access to the source in one way or another. This makes Noto a great alternative to use as a primary source for our ebook. At least if our intention is for the ebook to be read on a mobile, laptop, tablet or desktop computer.

And if we are really artists, we can also obtain the design through the Github. In any case, if you are creating an ebook, the best thing is opt for an Open Source source like Noto or also choose others such as Ubuntu or OpenSans, that is, a font that is present on many computers and that does not present problems for the programs or for the users.

So Noto seems like a great candidate for these functions Do not you think?
