Will Amazon eliminate cash registers from bookstores?

Just yesterday Amazon has presented a new business that it will promote soon and that consists of the sale of food and cafeterias. These establishments are not new in the world but if that will be the contribution of Amazon.

As indicated by Amazon, stores called Amazon Go will not have cash registers, that is, the user takes his food and leaves. Then Amazon, through a registration card that the user has, will pass the invoice for the purchase or the drinks that the user has made. This is revolutionary for many and impossible for many others.

However, the question is not in this but if Amazon will incorporate this technology to its bookstores and other products. If so, as many hope, Amazon could revolutionize the commerce and the sale of books as we know it Well, any user would not have to queue or wait for anything, it would only be to enter, take the book and leave. Something against which traditional bookstores could not compete Or maybe yes?

The novelty of Amazon Go and Amazon relies on RFID ID cards, cards that are responsible for registering our purchase and making the corresponding payment. A technology that for the moment is unattainable for small bookstores but that could change in a few years. Thus, within a few years the cash registers may cease to exist and with it the going through the cash register and the delay in making the purchase.

However Does it matter so much to take a few minutes to pay? Personally, I do not consider it that important but it seems that certain people, such as students, Yes, they will put this technology and the new Amazon Go stores to good use.. Let's hope the same thing that happened with buying ebooks on Amazon or with the purchase of apps What do you think?
