8-inch Icarus Illumina XL to be released in November

Icarus

Icarus is a brand that has been producing ereaders since 2012 and they have been one of the pioneers that promptly offered the possibility of accessing this type of device.

They were also among the first to open to Android in its complete line of products, and not only closing the fence, but at the same time it allowed to install any type of Android app that one wanted. The company has a new ereader ready in the oven to take out of the oven in the month of November and which it has named as Illumina XL.

The Illumina XL is characterized by a 8 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Icarus has decided to use the E-Ink Pearl technology due to its higher resolution compared to those of e-Ink Carta, which are not compatible with 8-inch devices.

In the bowels is a 1 GHz processor and RAM memory of 512 MB. It has 8 GB internal storage to store your digital book collection locally, and if that doesn't seem like enough, an SD card can be used to expand it up to 32 GB.

When it comes to weight, Icarus boasts of having achieved a product that weighs 20 percent less than the competition. Its dimensions: 145 x 200 x 9mm and a weight of 275 grams. A lower weight has been achieved by eliminating the physical buttons and switching them to virtual ones, so now it only has two buttons, one for power and the other for home.

Of the virtues that we can highlight, having the Android 4.2 version, is that users will be able to install apps like Kindle, Kobo, Nook, Skoobe, Bliyoo and many others, in order to have easy access to the ebooks that they may have in those applications.

This ereader will arrive to stores in November and its price will be € 199,95. Another interesting reader from here yesterday.
