We tested Amazon's Kindle Unlimited service

Spain

In recent days, flat book rates are very up-to-date, among which is the Amazon Kindle Unlimited, which we have been testing in the last days thanks to the 30-day free trial that Amazon offers to all users. In this article I am going to tell you about my experience with the service and I am also going to expose what I think are the positive and negative points of it.

Signing up for this service is extremely simple, if we already have an Amazon account, all you have to do is press a single button to access the large collection of books that Kindle Unlimited offers us, encrypted in 700.000 different titles, 25.000 of which are in Spanish.

Before expressing my opinion about the service, I think we can start with the positive and negative points of this new Amazon reading service:

Positive about Kindle Unlimited

  • Su price is undoubtedly one of its attractions, since for the amount of $9,99 you can access more than 700.000 books
  • The possibility of synchronization with other Amazon devices is undoubtedly a great advantage to be able to read Kindle Unlimited books from various devices without losing, for example, the page where we are going
  • One of the most positive points is the possibility of accessing the service from eReaders, smartphones and tablets And that does not limit you to having to buy the books in a single device. For example, it is possible to buy books very easily from a Kindle Paperwhite
  • Possibility of downloading "purchased" books through the service

Negative about Kindle Unlimited

  • The number of books in Spanish is not small since we have a total of 25.000 books, but it is the variety to choose from is small And it is that although we have some great books in it and some other novelty, most of the most interesting books that we all want to read are not available
  • The option of not being able to use this service on other eReaders the market limits it a bit
  • The downloaded eBooks have the usual Amazon format and that makes many of us uncomfortable

My take on Kindle Unlimited

There is no doubt that it is a very complete service, with an interesting number of books, and at a very low price. However If we do not have a Kindle eReader in any of its models, I think it is a service that is not worth it since where we can truly read with comfort will be on a device of this type.

In my case, for example, I do not have a Kindle, so I can only take advantage of this service on my smartphone and on my tablet, which I sincerely believe is not worth it. It is true that you could download the "purchased" books, convert them to another format and put them in another eReader, but this would be a job that you would not have to do with another service of this type.

For anyone who has a Kindle I think it is the best service you can bet on, taking into account all its advantages.

Have you tried the new Kindle Unlimited service? What is your opinion about it?.

I think a bit like you. The good thing about the service is that for € 10 you can "take a look" at books that you wouldn't normally buy. Anyway, it all depends on how much or how little a reader you are to make it worth it or not.
I think I've already said elsewhere that "personal copy upload" pages are a problem for these types of services.

On the other hand, it is true that it can only be used with a kindle ereader, but it is also valid for PCs and tablets from other brands.

Like you, I have used the free trial month offered by Amazon and this is my opinion. Despite having so many books to choose from, novelties are non-existent. When I asked Amazon how long it would take to put a recently published book on Unlimited, they did not know, or did not want, to give me an answer. As a Canal Plus customer, I already know how long it will take, on average, for a movie released this Friday to reach my platform.
Another problem, for me, is the type of books available. If you are a fan of the romantic novel, don't even think about it, go to slaughter.
But the most negative point of all, in my view, is that the subscription is automatically renewed once the trial month is over. I do not know to what extent this will be legal but immoral of course it is for a while.
Finally to keep in mind. The books that you download in Unlimited will only be available as long as you continue paying the monthly fee. Once you unsubscribe, whether you have read them or not, they will disappear from your library.

Good morning everyone, I have a question… there are some books that cost you cheaper if you are registered in Unlimited, do you know if these are also deleted when you cancel the subscription? still having bought them?

    regards

Eye! The free trial subscription is automatically renewed and charges begin without notice! I was very happy with amazon until they fooled me with this.

It is renewed and they do not even notify you of the charge… .and automatically… the first time that amazon nails me… in addition to having old and out-of-print books….

What an article shit, I don't know what happens today that people don't even bother to write a decent article. With putting that badly that it does not work for other devices and writing 3 misspelled lines they are satisfied. It is going to be true that the internet is for subnormals!

I have published two books on Kindle unlimited: SOMETIMES IT IS POSSIBLE, and LOS DELIRIOS DEL BALCONING. You don't make a lot of money from the readings, but it is satisfying to see that people read the entire book and the nice reviews they write.
