The Swiss company PocketBook has not only confirmed its new devices but has also officially presented them by putting them on sale at some points. Like Amazon and sometimes Kobo does, PocketBook has introduced two devices, a low-end device and a premium or high-end device. The first of these devices is called PocketBook Touch Lux 5, an entry-level ereader that will compete with the Kindle and the Kobo Nia. The second device is called Pocket Book Color, your eReader with a color screen that will compete with other similar devices, increasingly advertised.
PocketBook has already put these two devices on sale and although some countries still do not have them for sale, it will be a matter of days for the arrival of these and the possible acquisition. PocketBook continues to market and thus the price of these devices follows that of other models, with the PocketBook Color having a price above 200 euros as a good high-end ereader that it is.
PocketBook Color, the most anticipated
A few weeks ago, ereaders with a color screen were introduced, a feature that many expected. The first to be announced were PocketBook and iReader, but it seems that the device that will have the most impact will be Pocket Book Color. This device will have a 6-inch screen with E-Ink Kaleido technology, a special screen that adds a color screen to Carta HD technology. The device has a 1900 mAh battery that will give an autonomy of one month (approx.), A weight of 160 grams and an internal storage of 16 Gb, being able to expand thanks to the slot for microsd cards that supports up to 32 Gb of external space .
The screen, in addition to having the backlit screen, is tactile. PocketBook has also renewed its Touch Lux range, a family of devices that reaches its fifth version. Although far from being a mid-range device (like some of their devices) it will be an entry-level device.
PocketBook Touch Lux 5 has a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 212 dpi. The technology of its screen is Carta HD and in addition to being a touch screen it is a screen that has a backlight. A lighting that will adapt to the light conditions outside. As with other devices, the PocketBook Touch Lux 5 has a keypad that we can use or choose from the touch screen.
This device will have an 8 Gb internal storage that can be expanded thanks to the microsd card slot that the device has. The autonomy that is indicated is around the month, but it will depend on the use we give it.
According to the company, this model incorporates a powerful new dual core processorHowever, we do not know which model it is or its manufacturer. The price of this device will be around 100 euros, following in the wake of the entry-level ereaders but without being as low as the Amazon Kindle.
Personal opinion
These devices were already known and many media had leaked specifications, but it is true that with other devices from other companies the same thing has happened and then they did not reach the market. But these two devices are already on the market, in some stores we already find them available and in others we will see it during the next few days.
